Advantages
- Efficient at high capacities
- Proven technology from fishmeal production
- Comparably lower drying costs than the dry process
- Possibility to dissolve chitin
Disadvantages
- Complex process
- In spray drying – no energy recovery
- Lower protein content than in the dry process
- Processing only possible with large quantities (> 5t / hour)
- Need for adaption for animal welfare
- Fluctuations in the protein content in the final product
